Song of the Day: Rainbow - Cage the Elephant

Current Book: Secrets of the Stoics - Jason Hemlock

Yesterday was the laziest day that I have had in quite a while. After the busy Saturday we had, we decided to spend pretty much the entire day on the couch in front of the TV. The weather outside being cold and rainy helped make that decisions substantially easier.

After waking up around 7 AM yesterday, I got some coffee and started writing yesterday's post (which admittedly I was not extremely motivated to do). Two of my friends that I had not talked to for a little while were on Discord that morning, so I joined the voice channel and hung out with them while I was writing the post. We were talking about TV shows/movies we'd been watching recently, and one of them had been watching Severance which is one of my current favorites. We also talked about going to a hockey game in Baton Rouge in a couple of weeks (Maddie had made me a coupon to go since I've always wanted to go), so I need to get that scheduled. I am probably one of the worst schedulers of all time, and I never got around to it yesterday (too busy being on the couch).

Maddie ended up getting up around 9 AM, so I said bye to my friends on Discord to get started on my tasks for the day:

  1. Sit down on couch
  2. Turn on TV

And yep, surprising, I was able to accomplish both in record time. We proceeded to lay on the couch for the remainder of the day, only getting up for the absolute essentials: bathroom, food, and my daily walk (I count this as an essential). We binged some more of the "Keith Eats the Menu" series particularly his Disney stretch where he ate food at all of the parks/Disney Springs.

Still waiting on the Epcot one Keith

The rain briefly let up around 2 PM, so I decided to try my luck at walking. I got about 3/4 of the way through before it started raining heavily and was completely soaked by the time I made it home. I'm still glad I went though because I didn't feel as bad for laying on the couch for the remainder of the day as we kept watching Keith eat until dinner time (Maddie made a really good Mississippi pot roast!).

That was really about it for the day yesterday. We turned in around 9:15 PM. I did end up swapping books for the time being. While I was enjoying Picture of Dorian Gray, the chapters are too long for me to comfortably read before bed (they're like 30 minutes a piece I am finding), so I have put that one on the backburner for now. I found this book called "Secrets of the Stoics" which I picked up and am currently reading. I've always been a bit interested in Stoicism, so I am excited to learn more.

I know the last few posts have been shorter and lower effort, but I am hoping to get some renewed energy/vigor this week.

Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow!
