Current Book: Secrets of the Stoics - Jason Hemlock
This is absolutely going to just be a "keep up the habit" post with the bare minimum of effort put into it.
Worst rating since starting the blog so far. Yesterday was particularly bad especially as compared to what I believe was the record high rating the day before. To give some insight into why I despise my job so much, let me recount an actual conversation I had yesterday.
Tenant Rep: "{least favorite client} is requesting monitoring support during entire migration run"
Me: "Those migrations last >9 hours and aren't scheduled to start until 7 PM"
Tenant Rep: "Yea, they want someone monitoring the migration the entire time in case issues arise"
Me: "Just to clarify, they are requesting someone be monitoring from 7 PM - 7 AM the following morning?"
Tenant Rep: "Yes"
Me: "That doesn't really seem realistic"
The conversation continued and eventually they said they were going to push back a little (with support until midnight and then again at 7 AM the following morning), but the fact this conversation even existed truly pisses me off.
I don't feel like recounting every detail of yesterday, but I did some service queue tickets and started a mock migration for the same least favorite client. I went for my usual walk at lunch (3.2 miles in 55 minutes). I originally planned on going to this clinic being put on by the LSUA women's tennis team after work but decided against it due to having some work that needed to be done and the clinic being all the way out at LSUA.
I had some maintenance I had to do that evening that I had never done before, so I prepped for that which took a while. Maintenance itself went smooth though. Maddie also didn't have the best day yesterday, so I tried to help her out as much as I could before/after maintenance. We watched a bit of Moana 2 before heading to bed early.
I read a few pages and went to sleep.
Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow!
