03/16/2025 - Mixing It Up

Current Book: Revenge of the Tipping Point - Malcolm Gladwell
Yesterday was another pleasant day. After waking up later than usual, Maddie and I got caught up with what is currently out for Severance (next episode is the season finale) and just generally had a lazy morning.
After that, I took a shorter than usual walk (around 2.5 miles in 40 minutes) since there was a tennis mixer scheduled for later in the day. While on my walk, Bryan texted me to see if I wanted to go to the mixer early to hit, so I rushed home to be able to make it there on time. I got there around 1:30 to hit with Bryan. It was a gorgeous day with the perfect temperature; however, it was insanely windy making it rather hard to play.

There was a ton of variety once the mixer started, but my favorite match was a doubles match between me, Sarah (the assistant pro), Bryan, and my mom. I played with Sarah against Bryan and my mom. It was a horrible match in all of the right ways since no one could take anything seriously (except Bryan who was in the Wimbledon final mentally). The entire 20 minute match was pretty much laughter.
The mixer ended up wrapping up around 4:30, so I made my way home. Maddie had sold an old piece of furniture on Facebook marketplace, so we loaded that into the car around 5:30. The rest of the night was fairly uneventful, some more TV (White Lotus Season 1), before heading to bed around 9:30.
Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow!
P.S. Maddie has put a restriction in place on the blog that I should only mention her in positive ways. Maddie is the best. Maddie is great.
