Yesterday was what I like to refer to as "good busy". It's a rare day when I'm able to fully focus on a single task at work with minimal interruptions, but yesterday that's exactly what I was able to do. I've been struggling to find the focused time needed to look into one of my sprint stories, so it's been carrying over between sprints for some time now.
After waking up and getting some coffee, I sat down at work and didn't have any service tickets to look into. I went ahead and pushed the changes needed for the pull through cache (if you are curious what that is: https://docs.docker.com/docker-hub/image-library/mirror/) since I was tired of waiting for a review. There have been staffing changes/restructuring on my project, so the elements of this task that were supposed to be supported by other teams had gone into the black hole of "not my issue".

After pushing that change, I was able to start fully testing it out with a few scenarios I had come up with that required some significant setup. However, first I needed to go on my daily walk and eat lunch. In total, I walked 3.5 miles in 58 minutes.
After getting back, I was pleasantly greeted by a blank inbox and chat meaning that I could immediately return my focus to testing. All of the testing went well, and I documented everything I did in my story . That occupied me for the remainder of the day until I got off work around 4:30. Maddie had a family friend who had died last week, so she went to attend the small funeral in town at 3. When she got home, we went out to her parent's house for a fish dinner since some of the extended family had come into town for the funeral.
As is always the issue at Messina, food is just out and about, and I am what I consider a "social eater". If you are familiar with the term "social drinker", it's the same concept just with food. I have good control/willpower in non-social situations; however, add a group of people >2, and that goes completely out the window.

We also did some planning for an upcoming trip that I've decided to enter spectator mode for since there are 6 or 7 cooks in the kitchen. Maddie finally relented and allowed me to head home around 9:15. I went to bed fairly quickly after reading a chapter or so of my book.
Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow!
