Song of the Day: Mission to Mars - Rainbow Kitten Surprise

Current Book: Tipping Point - Malcolm Gladwell

Yes, I'm making the title for yesterday the same as the title of the Severance Season 2 finale. I couldn't come up with anything better unfortunately. The photo is nice at least (that's a plus).

Yesterday was Friday which is always great.

My Friday was another "good busy" at work. I had more things to focus one (I had three core tasks for the day), but I was able to devote attention to each of them in turn instead of constantly swapping back and forth from various other things. I started off the morning working on a "Change Request" for the getting the work I've been doing for the image cache approved for deployment into the production environment. While in theory, these change requests are supposed to make sure that changes are safe, secure, and won't break anything by having leadership review them prior to engineers implementing them. If you've been reading this for a while, you'll see two issues with this in my work environment:

  1. 90% of the engineers don't really know what they are doing
  2. 99% of the leadership are NPCs

If you are unfamiliar with what an NPC (Non-Player Character) is, just imagine them as someone who is good one particular thing but the slightest adjustment off of that predetermined course completely breaks their programming

I got all of that squared away and just need to speak to the topic in the two meetings we have for the same exact thing next week.

After getting that squared away, I went on my walk with my mom. In total, we walked ~3.5 miles in 60 minutes and came home to enjoy the last of the cabbage soup for the week. The rest of the day I had two service tickets that I worked on to get them completed. One was fairly challenging, so I spent a couple of hours troubleshooting it.

Maddie got home around 1 or 2, so we went to the store for our weekly shopping trip. I'll never understand why Kroger has so many self-checkout stations but leaves half of them closed off. We got back from that and did a bit more work before closing my laptop for the weekend.

I'd much rather do this

Maddie worked a bit longer. After she was done working, we took the girls on a walk which was really nice! I had tried to get some tennis plans for the evening as well since it was such a nice day outside, but unfortunately, no one replied. When we got back, Maddie began prepping for washing the dogs which is quite the event in our house since both of them hate it.

we could only dream they were like this

After she got done washing the dogs, we watched some TV including the end of Season 1 of White Lotus and the Season 2 finale for Severance. Both of which were quite good. We headed to bed around 10, and I did a bit of reading before calling it a night!

Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow!
