Song of the Day: Ready to Let Go - Cage the Elephant

Current Book: Tipping Point - Malcolm Gladwell

Yesterday was better than the previous day, but I still overall feel quite melancholic. Since yesterday's post was so bad/short, I'll expand on the major reason why here.

Last Tuesday, I had an interview with a company for a new position that seemed quite exciting especially as an escape from my current position. I felt that the interview went extremely well which is quite rare for me. Even back in college, I would feel that I did not do well on most tests and would end up getting an A, so this isn't a new concept for me.

On Wednesday, I emailed the interviewer to follow up and was hit with the gut punch that they had gone with another candidate. Since I had felt the interview went really well, I had already started "fantasizing" about the offboarding of my current job/onboarding to the new job which is probably why it is hitting me so hard. I've had a couple of days to process it now and am slowly getting over, but it was definitely a kick in the nuts.

Even beyond that, the rest of the day just kept piling it on with some of the examples from yesterday's post. I genuinely thought about closing up shop on the blog which is why I didn't put out yesterday's post until ~10 PM. But that's enough about Wednesday. Today is Thursday's post.

I was fairly tired due to the late work/ general feeling of sadness. I did manage to have a fairly productive day at work despite it all; I dealt with several service requests and started researching one of my sprint tasks. Nothing really remarkable to talk about at work though. After work, I got to play tennis (mixed doubles) which was fun. We had to go to the city courts since there was an event happening at the aquatic club. I didn't play amazing (which is typical for me in mixed doubles) but still have fun nonetheless.

I got home and ate dinner before pretty much reading the rest of the night.

Thanks for reading and see you tomorrow!
